Redemption for Gunners

The past week has been a nightmare for big clubs in England including our all-time favorite rivals Manchester United succumbing a 1-0 defeat at Stamford Bridge against the Blues. In an earlier kick off last Sunday evening was Pep’s side going at it with the gunners at Etihad stadium. Fans across the world were ready for a tight contest until it was no more as the underdogs in the away match- Arsenal, conceded an early Debruyne goal followed by a penalty kick by Sergio Aguero. A quick second half substitute led to a goal by Arsenal new summer signing- Alexandre Lacazette.

The Citizen’s relentless search for another goal deemed all hopes of Arsenal securing a draw following a goal from Gabriel Jesus. The 3rd goal has had disputes through the week with a review showing Silva caught on the offside trap although that did not change the score line with a 3-1 win in favor of Manchester City. Arsenal are currently placed at 6th position behind Liverpool, Man U, Tottenham and leaders- Man City.
The gunners have a tight schedule this coming week with a London derby ahead against rivals- Tottenham who have recently come into the league stronger, currently holding second position in the league and 1st in their UEFA champions league table. Arsenal have had a good run at the Emirates and may be needing more than just luck ahead of the game going into the game as the underdogs with soccer rivalry in mind and needing redemption to their fans at home.
Arsenal’s side miss defence tactician- Mustafi recovering from an injury with Santi Cazorla and Danny Welbeck suffering injuries set aside for a comeback in the second part of the season. The gunners have no worries in the Europa league, being major title contenders and currently holding 1st position in their group unbeaten. Already having qualified for the round of 32 in the competition, the gunners are proving to be a stronger side.
A win of the competition from Wenger’s side will be a big boost in the campaign to secure a place in the champions league the coming season. Though it will be sad to get ahead of ourselves as big clubs such as Dortmund and Atletico Madrid may not be making it to the round of 16 in the champions league thus rejoining Europa league as major title contenders, not forgetting Sevilla FC.
Tottenham may be missing their captain and goalkeeper- Hugo Lloris ahead of the Saturday match after suffering an injury. Their defensive midfielder- Victor Wanyama will also be recovering on the sidelines with an injury. Arsenal defence has conceded a number of goals this season and will be requiring to recover from this dismal display against their rivals with the forwards linking to place more pressure and goals as Tottenham miss their Belgian Defender- Alderweireld suffering from an injury too.

The eagerly awaited match on the Emirates will be tightly contested but all we gooners will be hoping for to soothe our souls is nothing less than a win! C.O.Y.G!
