An Edge Closer to a Champions League Trophy

A tantalizing 6-0 lead is what Arsenal treated its fans to in a champions league match against Ludogorets at the Emirates Stadium. Two of the six goals being amazingly scored in the first half of the match. The other four being scored in the second half of the match, a hat- trick in Ozil’s name.  The impressive Arsenal line-up included: Ospina, Mustafi, Koscielny, Hector Bellerin, Gibbs, Francis Coquelin, Santi Carzola, Theo Walcott, Mesut Ozil, Oxlade- Chamerlain and Alexis Sanchez.

The galore of goals from Arsenal started raining as early as the 12th minute. This was from an ever impressive Alexis Sanchez. A wonderful finish it was. He Chipped it past the defenders and goalkeeper and into the net, making it quite a superb finish as the fans roared with delight an emotional Wenger clapping his hands. All this was thanks to Chamberlain who made an assist to Alexis to pave their way for the first goal of the match.

The second goal came from Arsenal’s ‘man on fire’ this season, Theo Walcott in the 42nd minute. Some minutes before half time. Uplifting his count to eight goals in ten games. This was through an assist from Mesut Ozil who was at the edge of the box. He crossed it to Walcott, a confident man, hissing with power, he gave it his best as he shot it from the edge, past the defenders and goalkeeper and into the back of the net. What a superb finish this was and all will agree to that.

The third goal of the match was netted in 39 seconds into the second half. Can you imagine this? By non other than my self proclaimed man of the match Alex Oxlade- Chamberlain. This was through a cross from Gibbs to Chamberlain who was than at the right position at the right time inside the box. He then netted it in without delay thus giving Arsenal their third goal.

The fourth goal of this seemingly one sided match came from Mesut Ozil, this chance created via a counter- attack in the 55th minute. He again made this look quite easy netting the ball into the net past Ludogoret’s goalkeeper. This was made possible by Koscileny who after freeing the ball from an overcrowded Arsenal box. He noticed that Ozil was already forward making a run, He chipped it towards Ozil who made it quite an easy finish.

However, the long night was not yet over for Ludogorets as the fifth goal was provided again by Mesut Ozil in the 82nd minute. He made it again look quite easy. This was via a great assist from Lucas Perez who was at the edge of the box. He passed it to Ozil who had already made a run in the box with no Ludogoret defender on sight, he then tipped it into the net and what an easy finish that was.

On the sixth goal, the provision came from an impressive and also an on- form Ozil. Making a hat-trick. Still an assist from Lucas Perez in the 86th minute of game play. He then easilt and ruthlessly netted it in past Ludogoret’s shocked goalkeeper.

According to the game played, in a scale of 10, i would rank the players as follows:

Ospina- 7,    Mustafi- 6    Koskileny- 7    Bellerin- 8    Gibs- 7    Coquelin- 7    Carzola- 8    Ozil- 9    Sanchez- 9    Chamberlain- 9

What a splendid performance that was, edging us closer and closer into a historical champion’s league trophy.

Well done Arsenal..
